Comments from J. Michael Kelly, Esq.

"If Mr. Peterson simply availed himself of California's no fault divorce he could have divorced and supported his son Conner and be free to follow his self-interest. Some loves like the giant Sequoias last forever, other loves are seasonal and fade in the fall.

The California Family Law Institute wants to make available to all Californians the opportunity to restart their lives. The Peterson tragedy and the loss of a sweet, innocent, dedicated wife and mother to be points to the desperation and savagery of a spouse who belives that his life is over and that the only way out is through violence and murder.

None of it needed to be. And we are here to help solve family law differences in a peaceful, humane and generous fashion.

If Mr. Peterson had gotten information about child support and understood that if he made $40,000 a year and saw his child 20% of the time, his total child support would have been aproximately $700 a month, an easy sum to live with. Along with the pleasure of watching his son grow up."
